Here we go again CSI 50

This weeks colours at CSI , I loved the challenge as usual, I've got a few new dies recently so couldn't wait to try them out on this page, I'm sure you'll see a lot more of these in the future. Hoping you have time to take part in the CSI challenge, if not this week, maybe next?

This weeks offering for CSI

I really loved the colours of this weeks challenge, although the green behind the photos looks more brown than the actual green it is in real life! We are allowed to add less than 10% of an additional colour if we want, so i just added a few pink flowers to match dd3's dress.

CSI 47 - Great Fun

This weeks offering at CSI was a mix of colours, I wasn't sure how I was going to incorporate the blue, but luckily this photo of DD3 throwing some red leaves had plenty of sky in it...I picked up a few new dies this week on-line so have used two here. I don't usually like shopping for scrapping stuff on line, I prefer to visit the shops and have a good old feel of everything, but with DH being so unwell I gave it a go.....

Hope some of you have time to participate in the CSI challenge, its great fun..

CSI 46 This weeks challenge

Loving this weeks challenge of purple, had just the right photos for this challenge, needed to add just a touch to it with the journaling - the hardest part each week. i wish I was so much better at writing stuff up to fit on each page, Sarah Mckenna is an expert and I'm very tempted to get her to write all my journaling.

Swindon Next Weekend

Unfortunately I will probably not be able to teach at the 48hr Crop in Swindon, but here is the layout that somebody will be teaching for me.
I've used photos of Harry at Bristol Zoo, the green leaves in the background I thought would be good with the theme.
Of course there is a little bit of cutting out, some stamping, inking and embossing for definitiaon on the leaves.
I hope you all have fun and I think there are a couple of kits left if you want to have a go!

Sketchbook365

Here's this months offering for the November sketch at sketchbook365.

Some old photos of Harry and his dad on a trip to Barry Island after dropping off his big sis at Cardiff Airport. Its amazing to see how much he has grown in the past few years.

I used my masks from Tim Holtz, the cogs diecut from Tim too, and a little set of cog stamps that I think are from Maya Road.

Back from Scrap365

Yahooooo, I got some of my layouts back. I was really excited to meet Katy Fox editor of Scrap365 at the Paperartsontour retreat a couple of weeks ago. Katy was even brave enough to take one of my classes, although she did opt for the one with the least cutting out ! She returned loads of my layouts that have been featured in Scrap365, I hadn't realized how many I'd done !!! (I can't show you them all yet), I've still got quite a few to be shown yet too.

What excuse this time

I was going to teach this layout at the Swindon crop, unfortunately I wasn't able to attend so I used it for a class I taught at Paperarts instead. I love using corrugated cardboard as an extra on my layouts, possibly because its free - you know how thrifty I like to be! Hoping to get another layout sorted so I can teach at Paperarts - I'm missing my scrapping buddies!

My poor neglected blog!

For those of you who know me personally will know the last few months have been traumatic for the family. We're hoping there will be an improvement and normalish life can resume for a while, fingers X'd.
So a couple of things I taught at the Paperartsontour retreat, which I must say was brilliant, looking forward to next years already! There was only a smigin of cutting out for our intrepid scrappers, most took to it like ducks to water, I was really pleased with the results and I hope everybody got to finish what they started!

Scrap365 Cover!

I was completely surprised, shocked & stunned to find my LO on the cover of Scrap365 this month. I've also got an article inside on, using up old stuff, namely eyelets as well, which has received a lovely response from many people. So I'm feeling very chuffed. Harry is now a minor celebrity in Abergavenny, and can be found standing next to the Scrap365 Mag, posing.......

Swindon 9th June Crop

Here are the sneak peeks for my class.....the one I forgot I was teaching....for the event I have seen being counted down on Facebook, but forgotten that I was going to!! Not much hope for me really is there!!!
IRL the green is more vibrant - more of a lime green, the yellow is brighter too. I've used 1 portrait 6x4" and 2 portrait 3x2" of my naughty boy himself - Harry...its not a girly girl LO, its more suited to a boy or a fun day out!!
Hopefully I will remember to turn up at the crop - it is in my diary, so hopefully I will !!

At long Bloomin Last !!!

At long last you may say !!! Sorry for the delay but the house is in chaos with the builders in, we've demolished a huge 1970/80's stone clad fire surround (12'x7') - to expose the original fire place....a few major problems whilst doing it, but at least the chimney didn't collapse !!! They are also working in 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms and DH has been decorating the lounge. The dust has been unbelievable, and damp and plaster dust set my asthma off brilliantly, so I've had to stay out of the house quite a bit..... Anyway here are some sneak peeks for Saturdays class at PaperArts.

I've used 3 portrait 3 1/2x 2 1/2" and 1 landscape 3 1/2x 2 1/2....you could use all portrait if you wish, or 2 6x4". Mine has a beach theme as the paper has little fishes on it The colours are mostly red but the background spots are various reds, yellows, pink, orange, blues, brown and greens. Hopefully there will be some spaces left if you'd like to join us !!!

Scrap365 publications

These are the two LO's I had published in Scrap365 on behalf of PaperArts as part of their DT . The Vit D Fix was part of the 6 photo challenge, and the other was about things you love/favourite things.

I'm finding I'm using lots of photos on my Layouts at the moment, I still do the odd 1 photo page, but I love the effect of the multi photo page, it gives more of a story and a memory. I think Harry was quite chuffed to be featured this time, Abbie is used to it though, and gets quite jealous if she's not in the magazine and the others are! I think next month is Harry again, then Dan & Abbie the following month, in an article I had to write myself. (Not my strong poing). I'll have to take some of the older children, but they aren't around much any more and certainly don't like having their photos taken !!!

Its about time......

I got and updated my blog, instead of reading everybody elses! This was my last class at PaperArts, and we made extra kits that are available to buy here. I think there are a couple left. The flower paper (Echo Park) I believe, was stunning, and I've saved mine to cut out some more flowers for another LO, in the future. My next class is in May and you can book here, I've no idea what I'm doing yet, but I expect it will involve, inking, distressing and cutting out!

Aprils class at Paperarts

It seems ages since I taught at Paperarts - which it is, I suppose. So I thought I'd best get sorted and get the sneak peeks for the class published.....we'll be making some lovely flowers, and doing a little cutting out, inking and stuff. But it won't be too messy, but you might need some plasters !!!

Sketchbook365

Yahooooooooo, a new sketch challenge blog !!! Scrap365 are running this blog. Once a month a sketch will be posted and then all you have to do is share it with everybody, easy peasy?
As a brand new member of the design team (Oooooooooh), this is my version of Mays' challenge, done in superfast time, ready for the launch (hopefully) today! I would usually have turned it around, made it back to front, on an angle, allsorts of different ways, but I thought for the first one I would try and go with the flow....as they say, so it was easily recognisable.
So if you head over to Sketchbook365, you can get ready to play too, and perhaps win a wonderful scrappy prize !!!

I just added a couple of extra bits to the page as it wasn't quite right....But I'm very happy with it now !!

CSI 14 - Enjoying the challenges

I managed to get some scrapping done yesterday, so decided to complete the challenge for CSI, here's this weeks, another one of dd3 - of course.....I love this picture, so I printed it off in A5 size. The colours this week I found a little hard to work out, and judging by the design team at CSI, I think they did too, but I do think I've got them all somewhere in the layout.

Sunday 8 April 2012

This weeks CSI Challenge

I try most weeks to complete a challenge with CSI its a new site, but you wouldn't know it....lots of experience on the team!! Its really good if you've lost your mo-jo, or just like a challenge. Its a real friendly site so go and have a look and join in....this is my effort for this week!

Catch Up Time

I'm just trying to catch up with some of the layouts I've made in the last couple of months, I seem to have rather a lot just stacked up, lying around without a home.

I've been very busy getting layouts done to send to magazines, they're the easy bit, writing the feature is the hard bit, I'm not a writer and find it really difficult!! So please excuse my efforts. Hopefully with practice I might improve - or I'll ask one of my friends, who loves writing, to re-write my articles, in proper english !!!

Sunday 25 March 2012

Scrap365 magazine

Sorry for not updating the blog for a while, but I've been busy sorting out some new layouts for Scrap365, I don't think I mentioned that I'd been asked to join their design team - a dream job. But it does mean that you probably won't see me around 'Scrapbook Magazine' as you can't write for both! As I'd been with SBM for over a year now, I thought a change would be good and I love the new magazine, so I was really delighted to be able to say 'Yes'
Just updating a few layouts that I've done over the past month or so, I think there are lots more around, so hopefully I'll be getting them put up here asap.

Sunday 11 March 2012

Yesterdays Class

This is a variation of the 'Harry of Course' LO. I had several people ask if I could do a class using the tags, so this was the result, similar but not exactly the same. I'm actually pleased with it, I didn't particularly like the photos on their own, but seeing them on this LO really enhanced them.... I think Paperarts have a few kits left if you email them quickly!!

Wednesday 7 March 2012

CSI Watch List

I'm very chuffed, I've just been put on the watch list at CSI with the LO 'Harry of Course'....I love this challenge site run by Debbi, its fairly new but really friendly and fun....go and check it out and have a go, it gets that mojo working again !!!

Tuesday 6 March 2012

PaperArts 10th Mar

Oooops nobody reminded me I'm teaching this weekend at Paperarts......Colours used this month are red, green, brown and newsprint. 1 6x4" portrait & 2 5x3 1/2" portrait, with white borders. The photos I used are old studio type portrait prints of the 2 youngest boys......I don't even remember having them done !!
So I hope you'll be able to join us...

My Busy Weekend !

I'm not quite sure how I only managed to do 4 1/2 Lo's at the 48hr crop, I know I did teach 2 classes, but I did have plenty of time to do more than 4....We did spend some time looking in the fire-engine, eating, talking, shopping, eating, talking, more eating, more talking and lots of laughing. I did do a lot of cutting out too, perhaps thats what took the time.....

And I'm not sure why the horses are called lumpys, it is something that DS1 & GF call them !!
